The Who, the Why

My practice is a crosspollination of mediums in hope of creating a complex internal and external life of an object. Mirroring the multitudes of identity that each one of us contains, the same is required of my performative, wearable sculpture pieces. As an automatistic drawer I am compelled by the unconscious dictionary of shapes and lines and how they situate themselves in the known world. How does something meaningless have the potential to create its own language and mythology? In the same way that an infant creates authentic connections with an object before discipline oversimplifies with a definition, I aim to constantly put myself on a perpetual learning curve; Claiming nothing as pure fact and worldbuilding through play and experimentation.
My mediums includes, drawing, writing, sculpture, fibers, video and performance. My work is about creating a multitude of lives for one object. My process starts from writing, then drawing, sculpture, painting, fibers, and finally activated through film and performance. It’s important for me to break traditional modes of making in hopes to create multidimensional work. Concepts stem from the unconscious, the nonbinary gaze, micro organisms, and fluidity in all aspects of life.
